Virtual Workshop in Historical Political Economy

The Virtual Workshop in Historical Political Economy is an online workshop series, similar to the Virtual Workshop on Authoritarian Regimes (VWAR). Launched in 2020, it is envisioned to be a resource for scholars in political science and economics to receive constructive feedback on their work in progress and a means to build a stronger HPE community.

Participants will provide a working paper to the co-organizers, Dmitrii KofanovTine Paulsen, and Jan Vogler. We will recruit a number of discussants to participate in the workshop. We will host the virtual workshop (approximately 60-70 min) on Zoom. Participants will deliver a presentation and receive feedback from discussants, who will read the manuscript in advance, and other audience members. We welcome submissions from scholars who study topics related to historical political economy. We will give preference to junior scholars when choosing papers for the workshop.

Originally, the workshop was created and led by Florian Hollenbach and Jan Pierskalla.

Please fill out this form by August 15, 2024 if you would like to participate. You can reach us by email in case you have any questions.
