The Virtual Workshop in Historical Political Economy (VWHPE) aims to be a central hub for discussing state-of-the-art research in the field of HPE. It allows for members of the international HPE community to come together on a regular basis, learn about recent work on a broad variety of topics, and join a critical conversation.
For the academic year 2026–2027 (September 2026 to May 2027), we are issuing this call for papers. We look forward to receiving paper proposals on all subjects of historical political economy. If you would like to submit a proposal, please fill out the following Google form by August 25, 2026 the latest:
https://forms.gle/9aRhKcfvjWohPAgi9 (requires Google account)
Furthermore, if you would like to attend our workshops as an audience member, please also fill out the form. We will then add you to our email list. We will provide further details on our workshop and its schedule as we get closer to the fall.
Thanks for your interest in the VWHPE. We look forward to an amazing year of discussing state-of-the-art research in historical political economy!
